A Hooded Cardigan and Matching Baby Booties
Jogjoohoi is a two-piece baby set consisting of a soft hooded cardigan and matching knitted booties. Clean shapes, stocking-stitch fabric and subtle moss-stitch details give the set a calm, timeless appearance.
The cardigan body is worked flat in one piece up to the armholes. The fronts and back are then completed separately. The long sleeves are picked up directly around the armholes and knitted in the round. A moss-stitch hood, three button closures and continuous I-cord edging complete the cardigan.
The booties begin with garter-stitch soles. Stitches are then picked up around each sole, and the bootie is worked in the round on double-pointed needles. Decreases shape the toe, while an eyelet row and twisted cord help keep the booties securely in place. The folded moss-stitch cuff is finished with an I-cord edge.
The sample was knitted in Noble Cashmere DK, a 100% cashmere yarn with a yardage of approximately 200 m per 100 g / 219 yd per 3.5 oz. The original set uses the hand-dyed Cochenille colourway by Buttjebeyy.
